Privacy Policy
General Privacy Promise:
Highlander Bicycle is in the business of selling performance bicycles, components and framesets. We're not in the business of selling personal information, and we never will be. The information that you provide to us in order to complete a transaction or address an issue will never be disclosed by Highlander Bicycle. This promise includes names, telephone numbers, email addresses, credit card numbers or other personally identifiable information.

Partners:
Highlander Bicycle will never enter into any agreement with any partner business or organization that requires the disclosure of our customers' personal information for purposes that exceed the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Personal Records:
Records of transactions containing personal or credit information are kept only for the purposes of expediting returns or easing future transactions. Paper copies are secured under lock-and-key; access is allowed only to the principals of Highlander Bicycle for the reasons stated above.

Periodic Email Newsletters and Updates:
We may email our customers occasionally to inform them about new product lines, safety issues, sales or other information that might be of interest to performance-oriented cyclists. If you don't want to receive periodic emails from Highlander Bicycle, please let us know. We'll remove you from the list immediately. (Note that many customers have several email addresses: a home address, a work address, a web-based address, etc. Please make the request for removal from the email address to which we're sending our newsletter, so we can act expeditiously to remove you from future mailings.)

Email addresses:
Highlander Bicycle gathers email addresses only when our customers contact us to ask for information or to complete a transaction. We do not buy or sell email addresses, and we never will.

Cookies:
Cookies are small text files placed on users' computers when they visit certain Internet sites or register as members of online entities. In most cases, cookies allow previous customers and visitors to be recognized at the website, so they don't have to enter the same information repeatedly. In some cases, cookies are used to track the buying habits of online consumers.

The only cookies used by Highlander Bicycle are Oreos, after we ride. We have intentionally kept our website as low-tech and friendly as possible, and we do not use cookies for any reason. As our website grows, it might be that we employ cookies to allow customers to log in to their account, in order to access personal and transaction information. If that time comes, we will clearly notify our customers of this change, and customers will always be given a no-cookies option.

Changes to Privacy Policy:
On our home page and in email communications, we will clearly notify our customers if changes are made to this privacy policy.

Our General Privacy Promise will never change:
The information that you provide to us in order to complete a transaction or address an issue will never be disclosed by Highlander Bicycle to any parties not named in this Privacy Policy. This promise includes names, telephone numbers, email addresses, credit card numbers or other personally identifiable information. We will also never enter into any agreement with any partner business or organization that requires the disclosure of our customers' personal information for purposes that exceed the terms of this Privacy Policy.
